Hi!
I'm Jabeen, a medical doctor and currently practicing medicine in the United Kingdom as a Clinical Fellow.
I'm lucky to be that kind of a foodie & that kind of a girl who is also passionate about cooking & baking. I've been cooking since I was in my early teens so now I've become courageous enough to try out new recipes every now and then and most of the times, the results are amazing which encourage me even more. This is not something which is unique to me, but whoever of you has been cooking since long, would know how to actually 'moderate and maneuver' the process of cooking & baking.
I love photography and so, food photography too. When I cook, I take lots of photos and post them on my Facebook & Twitter. Sometimes I'm asked recipes of those dishes which I cook by combining few recipes of same thing from here & there. That is how I thought of maintaining an online journal of all my culinary endeavors. The recipes I follow are mostly from various websites / Facebook pages / YouTube channels I visit, but i tweak them according to my taste. Some recipes are my own and of my mother's.
Apart from cooking, I love to explore the world and have visited few countries. During my trips, I take a lot of pictures and so as mentioned earlier photography is also my hobby. I have added my best photography on this blog as well under the 'iPhoneography' tab.
I LOVE animals, specially cats & dogs and have owned few as well. Currently I have one fur-baby; my nearly two year old cat named Snow White. I love her to bits.
I'm an avid reader (of mostly chick-flicks). My all time favorite writers are Sophie Kinsella and Susan Wiggs. I also read other authors and frequently quote them in my posts on social websites. I watch movies as well; those too chick-flicks / romantic comedies. BBC period dramas / movies and Hallmark's movies are my favorites.
I have also been into arts & crafts a bit and I'm an amateur pencil artist. I use the term 'Season of Sketching' for the times I sketch. Because I don't sketch frequently, but sometimes, when there's 'Season' for me. This season comes & goes without any pattern and what triggers it, I honestly don't know. Like my cooking and photography, I'm also proud of my pencil work, sample of which in the form of few sketches you can find under 'Pencilwork' tab.
I did my MBBS from Pakistan and also pursued MBA in Health Management from Karachi. I didn't practice medicine a lot in my home country because I believe young doctors are very unfairly paid and treated there. So I had shifted my career path to pharmaceutical marketing while I was in my home country. But as its said, once a doctor, always a doctor, so I yearned to get back to medicine. Hence came to the UK after a tedious process of PLAB exam (licensing exam for foreign doctors who wish to practice in the UK) and GMC (UK medical council) registration.
